WHAT IS KEYSTONE RECORD COLLECTORS, INC. (KRC)?

 

“The Keystone Record Collectors, a non-profit club, is dedicated to the promotion andadvancement of the hobby of music collecting”. It was organized by collectors, for collectors,with the express purpose of providing a way for music collectors to obtain knowledge abouttheir hobby and to increase their personal collections in their specific area(s) of interest.


HOW OLD IS KRC?


The club celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2009. KRC was first organized on September 14,1979, and has been in continuous operation since that time


WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP IN KRC?


Anyone with an interest in music is encouraged to join. The KRC has no restriction as to age,race, national origin, religious preference, or country of residence.


ARE THERE MEMBERS RESIDING OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES?


The KRC has a few members outside the United States; however the majority of its memberscome from Pennsylvania and neighboring states.


WHERE IS “HEADQUARTERS” FOR THE KRC?


The mailing address for the KRC is P.O. Box 10532, Lancaster, PA 17605. Since officers of theKRC reside in several different counties in Pennsylvania, “headquarters” is generally consideredto be South Central Pennsylvania.


ARE DUES REQUIRED FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE KRC?


Yes, yearly dues of $15.00 are assessed each KRC member.


DO KRC MEMBERS HAVE SIMILAR TASTES IN MUSIC?

 
No! KRC members have widely varying preferences when it comes to the type of music theycollect. Our members collect almost anything that was put out on vinyl, and at all speeds, in allformats, including CD’s, DVD’s, cassettes along with other music-related items.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP IN THE KRC?


While members have different opinions regarding club benefits, the following rank high with allmembers:

 Twelve issues of KEY-NOTES, Cyberspace Edition that arrives in your e-mailbox afew days before each show. It contains the very latest show and club information.(Members who provide their e-mail address will receive this timely benefit.)
 A FREE subscription to Recollections, our magazine that keeps track of artists whohave made a big impact in our region. It generally comes out once or twice a year.
 The 12 Pennsylvania Music Expos/swap meets the KRC hosts each year at theContinental Inn, 2285 Lincoln Highway East (US 30), Lancaster, PA
 The best discount prices available on music books, record sleeves, storage boxes,poly bags (7” and 12”), and sample copies of leading Music Publications.
 The KRC Membership Directory listing all members, their addresses, telephonenumbers, e-mails, and specific collecting interests. This can be handy when trying totrack down that one record you can’t seem to locate.

ARE CLUB MEMBERS ALLOWED TO SET UP AND SELL/TRADE MUSICAND MUSIC COLLECTING MEMORABILIA DURING THE PENNSYLVANIAMUSIC EXPOS HELD AT THE CONTINENTAL INN?


Only KRC members are allowed to set up at our show. Published procedures and regulationsare available for members wishing to set up at a show. Generally, set up time is from 7-9 a.m.on Sunday morning (our shows are always the second Sunday of every month – exceptEaster). Spaces rent is $35.00 each (6 foot table) or $45.00 each (8 foot table), providedspace is available. Those setting up for the first time should contact the KRC reservationstelephone at: 717-898-1246 and leave a message. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


DOES THE KRC HOLD REGULAR MEMBERSHIP (BUSINESS) MEETINGS?
Yes! Regular business meetings are held at 3:30 p.m. following each of our January, March,May, July, September, and November shows. They are held at the Continental Inn. Most clubbusiness is transacted at these meetings. 


DOES THE KRC HAVE OFFICERS? HOW ARE THEY ELECTED?
The KRC has four officers elected annually: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer,along with appointed officers. Officers are elected by a mail-in vote from those distributed toall members. Nominations are solicited from all members prior to the elections.
