(KRC)? “The Keystone Record Collectors, a non-profit club, is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the hobby of music collecting”. It was organized by collectors, for collectors, with the express purpose of providing a way for music collectors to obtain knowledge about their hobby and to increase their personal collections in their specific area(s) of interest. HOW OLD IS KRC? The club celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2009. KRC was first organized on September 14, 1979, and has been in continuous operation since that time. WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP IN KRC? Anyone with an interest in music is encouraged to join. The KRC has no restriction as to age, race, national origin, religious preference, or country of residence. ARE THERE MEMBERS RESIDING OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES? The KRC has a few members outside the United States; however the majority of its members come from Pennsylvania and neighboring states. WHERE IS “HEADQUARTERS” FOR THE KRC? The mailing address for the KRC is P.O. Box 1516, Lancaster, PA 17608. Since officers of the KRC reside in several different counties in Pennsylvania, “headquarters” is generally considered to be South Central Pennsylvania. ARE DUES REQUIRED FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE KRC? Yes, yearly dues of $15.00 are assessed each KRC member. DO KRC MEMBERS HAVE SIMILAR TASTES IN MUSIC? No! KRC members have widely varying preferences when it comes to the type of music they collect. Our members collect almost anything that was put out on vinyl, and at all speeds, in all formats, including CD’s, DVD’s, cassettes along with other music-related items. While members have different opinions regarding club benefits, the following rank high with all members:
ARE CLUB MEMBERS ALLOWED TO SET UP AND SELL/TRADE MUSIC AND MUSIC COLLECTING MEMORABILIA DURING THE PENNSYLVANIA MUSIC EXPOS HELD AT THE CONTINENTAL INN? Only KRC members are allowed to set up at our show. Published procedures and regulations are available for members wishing to set up at a show. Generally, set up time is from 7-9 a.m. on Sunday morning (our shows are always the second Sunday of every month – except Easter). Spaces rent is $35.00 each (6 foot table) or $45.00 each (8 foot table), provided space is available. Those setting up for the first time should contact the KRC reservations telephone at: 717-898-1246 and leave a message. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. DOES THE KRC HOLD REGULAR MEMBERSHIP (BUSINESS) MEETINGS? Yes! Regular business meetings are held at 3:30 p.m. following each of our January, March, May, July, September, and November shows. They are held at the Continental Inn. Most club business is transacted at these meetings. DOES THE KRC HAVE OFFICERS? HOW ARE THEY ELECTED? The KRC has four officers elected annually: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, along with appointed officers. Officers are elected by a mail-in vote from those distributed to all members. Nominations are solicited from all members prior to the elections. WHERE CAN AN APPLICATION FOR KRC MEMBERSHIP BE OBTAINED? Membership applications can be obtained by writing KRC, P.O. Box 1516, Lancaster, PA 17608, or by phoning 717-898-1246.
